Depth Charge
A depth charge is an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) weapon. It is intended to destroy a submarine by being dropped into the water nearby and detonating, subjecting the target to a powerful and destructive Shock factor, hydraulic shock. Most depth charges use explosive, high explosive charges and a fuze set to detonate the charge, typically at a specific depth. Depth charges can be dropped by ships, patrol aircraft, and helicopters. Depth charges were developed during World War I, and were one of the first viable methods of attacking a submarine underwater. They were widely used in World War I and World War II, and remained part of the anti-submarine arsenals of many navies during the Cold War, during which they were supplemented, and later largely replaced, by anti-submarine homing torpedoes. A bomb shot, depth charge, or drop shot (Canada) is a kind of mixed drink. A drink in a small glass (typically a shot glass) is dropped into a larger glass holding a different drink. The resulting cocktail is typically consumed as quickly as possible ("chugged"). Preparation A bomb shot typically consists of a shot glass of hard liquor that is dropped into a glass partially filled with beer but sometimes with some other beverage. Many variations exist. Background Born in St Albans in 1931, Summers was born into a family of theatrical tradition and his father Walter Summers (1896-1973) was a film director and screenwriter. ''Depthcharge'' is a single-player arcade game released in 1977 by Gremlin Industries. The game, which uses a black-and-white CRT display, presents the player with a cut-away view of a section of ocean, on the surface of which is a destroyer with submarines passing beneath it. The player drops depth charges (up to six at a time) to destroy the submarines and moves the ship back and forth in order to avoid the submarines' mines. Up to four submarines may be present at any given time, each of which bears a score for destroying it that increases with its depth. Andrez Simon Bergen is an Australian musician and writer. , Bergen lived in Tokyo, Japan with his wife, Yoko Umehara, and their daughter Cocoa. He has performed and released electronic music as Little Nobody. Biography Andrez Simon Bergen, was born in Melbourne. With his friends Brian Huber and Mateusz Sikora established a record label, IF? Records in 1995 in Melbourne. As Little Nobody, he worked as a DJ and issued an album, '' Pop Tart'' in September 1998 on his label. One of its tracks is "Tobacco-Stained Mountain Goat". In April 2011 Bergen published his first novel, ''Tobacco-Stained Mountain Goat'', via Another Sky Press. Jonathan Saul Kane
J Saul Kane (born 1969) is an English DJ, musician who has released recorded material since 1987 as Depth Charge and The Octagon Man, amongst other noms de disc. He is also the owner of the record labels DC Recordings and Electron Industries. He is well known for his pioneering use of samples, particularly from cult films in the martial arts, Spaghetti Western and pornographic genres. He has also made tracks celebrating his favourite football team (Brazil on the 1990 single "Goal") and player (on the 1998 single " Romário"). Kane is often credited for inventing "trip hop" and "big beat"; he used kung-fu film samples before Wu-Tang Clan. His other aliases include Alexander's Dark Band, T.E.T and Grimm Death. As a confirmed kung-fu movie fan, Kane was involved in setting up the company Made in Hong Kong, which licensed Chinese movies, particularly those made by the Shaw Brothers.
