Dennis Williams (basketball)
Dennis Williams (born June 27, 1965) is an American former professional basketball player. He played for Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League, and for FC Barcelona Banca Catalana in the Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. He was the top scorer in the 1993 Israel Basketball Premier League. Biography Williams was born in Charleston, South Carolina. He played basketball for four seasons for the University of Georgia, averaging 8.9 points per game for the Bulldogs, graduating in 1987. Williams played guard, and in 1986-87 as he averaged 15.7 points per game he was 6th in the Southeastern Conference with 50 steals and 1.7 steals per game, and 10th with 192 field goals. Williams was drafted in the 5th round of the 1987 NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs. Dennis Williams (cricketer)
Dennis Stanley Williams (15 November 1936 – 18 September 2013) was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer. Williams served in the Royal Artillery for 34 years, during which time he played first-class cricket for the Combined Services cricket team. Military career Williams graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in August 1957, entering into the Royal Artillery as a second lieutenant. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in August 1959, with promotion to captain coming in August 1963. He became a major in December 1968. In 1975, he gained the rank of lieutenant colonel, with promotion to colonel in June 1983. He gained his final promotion to brigadier in December 1987, with seniority to June 1987. He retired from military service in November 1991. Dennis D. Williams (born May 1953) is a former American labor union leader, who was convicted of embezzlement. Union leader Williams grew up with a foster family, and served in the United States Marines. After being demobbed, he became a welder with J.I. Case in Rock Island, Illinois, and in 1977 he joined the United Auto Workers (UAW) union. In 1988, he began working full-time for the union's organizing department. He became a regional director in 2001, based in Chicago, during which time he was the first UAW leader to endorse Barack Obama's presidential bid. In 2010, Williams was elected as secretary-treasurer of the UAW. In this role, he was prominent in negotiating contracts with carmakers in Detroit, and was credited with securing an increase in membership dues, improving the union's finances.
