Dennis Price (American Football)
Dennis Sean Price (born June 14, 1965) is a former American football defensive back who played with the Los Angeles Raiders and New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at UCLA. NFL career Los Angeles Raiders 1988 season Price was drafted in the fifth round of the 1988 NFL Draft by his hometown team, the Los Angeles Raiders, with the 131st pick overall. In his first season, he played in 12 games, four of which he started. He also made two interceptions during the 1988 season for a total of 18 returning yards. However, he suffered a groin injury later in the season, which sidelined him. 1989 season Price switched from jersey number 38 to 20 before the 1989 season. In gridiron football, defensive backs (DBs), also called the secondary, are the players on the defensive side of the ball who play farthest back from the line of scrimmage. They are distinguished from the other two sets of defensive players, the defensive linemen who play directly on the line of scrimmage, and the linebackers, who play in the middle of the defense, between the defensive line and the defensive backs. Among the defensive backs, there are two main types, cornerbacks, which play nearer the line of scrimmage and the sideline, whose main role is to cover the opposing team's wide receivers, and the Safety (gridiron football position), safeties, who play further back near the center of the field, and who act as the last line of defense. Alex Gordon (gridiron Football)
Alex Groncier Gordon (born September 14, 1964) is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 1987 through 1993. He played college football at the University of Cincinnati. According to an August 1987 ''Sports Illustrated'' article, Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka wanted to draft Gordon in the first round (No. 26 overall) in the 1987 NFL Draft. However, Ditka was overruled by the Bears' front office, which instead selected Michigan quarterback Jim Harbaugh. The Jets selected Gordon in the second round with the 42nd overall pick that year. In 1995, Gordon began playing in the Canadian Football League for the U.S. expansion Memphis Mad Dogs. In that one season, he led the team with 61 tackles and 7 sacks.
