Dennis Meyer (golfer)
John Dennis Meyer (born April 8, 1950, in Jefferson City, Missouri) is a former professional American football defensive back and coach. An All-American defensive back at Arkansas State, Meyer signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1973, playing safety and punt returner for the team. He was cut before the 1974 season and signed with the Portland Storm of the World Football League. He later signed with the Atlanta Falcons for 1975, but was cut before the season started. He next signed with the Calgary Stampeders where he played two seasons as a safety and punt returner. After his retirement as a player, Meyer was hired to coach Calgary's defensive backfield. In 1982, he joined the Toronto Argonauts as defensive backfield and special teams coach. He was promoted to defensive coordinator and, in 1992, he replaced Adam Rita as head coach of the Argonauts. Safety (gridiron Football Position)
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the American football positions#Defense, defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. 1974 NFL Season
The 1974 NFL season was the 55th regular season of the National Football League. The season ended with Super Bowl IX when the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Minnesota Vikings. Players held a strike from July 1 until August 10, prior to the regular season beginning; only one preseason game (that year's College All-Star Game) was canceled, and the preseason contests were held with all-rookie rosters. Great Bridge High School
Great Bridge High School is a public secondary school in Chesapeake, Virginia, United States. It is part of Chesapeake City Public Schools. History Great Bridge opened in 1907, holding students from 1st through 12th grade. Another larger building opened in 1924, which also housed students from 1st through 11th grade. In 1954, Great Bridge moved to another new larger building which accommodated students in 6th through 12th grade. This building has now become the site of Great Bridge Middle School. Bob O'Billovich
Robert O'Billovich, nicknamed "Bobby O" or "Obie", (born June 30, 1940) is an east regional scout for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). O'Billovich has been involved with the CFL since 1963 in the roles of player, coach, general manager, scout, and several front-office positions. As a long-time coach in the CFL, he won 107 regular season games in the CFL, the eighth highest win total by a head coach in the league's history. Early life O'Billovich was born and raised in Butte, Montana, where he was an outstanding football and basketball player at Butte High School. Adam Rita (born September 21, 1947) is a gridiron football coach & general manager, most notably in the Canadian Football League. He has served as the head coach of the Toronto Argonauts, Ottawa Rough Riders, and BC Lions and as general manager of the Lions and Argonauts.
