San José (; meaning "Saint Joseph") is the capital and largest city of Costa Rica, and the capital of the province of the same name. The Costa Rica national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Costa Rica) represents Costa Rica in men's international football. The national team is administered by the Costa Rican Football Federation (FEDEFUTBOL), the governing body for football in Costa Rica. The football tournament at the 1980 Summer Olympics started on 20 July and ended on 2 August. Only one event, the ''men's tournament'', was contested. Seven qualified countries did not participate joining the American-led boycott in protest of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The 1980 Summer Olympics (russian: Летние Олимпийские игры 1980, Letniye Olimpiyskiye igry 1980), officially known as the Games of the XXII Olympiad (russian: Игры XXII Олимпиады, Igry XXII Olimpiady) and commonly known as Moscow 1980 (russian: link=no, Москва 1980), were an international multi-sport event held from 19 July to 3 August 1980 in Moscow, Soviet Union, in present-day Russia. Dennis Amos Marshall Maxwell (9 August 1985 – 23 June 2011) was a Costa Rica international footballer who played as a left back.
