Denis Carey (composer)
Denis Carey is an Irish musician and composer known for his solo work and as a member of Brock McGuire Band. Career Along with Dave Keary and Ray Fean, Carey composed and produced the soundtrack for the Canadian film The Divine Ryans, featuring Oscar nominee Pete Postlethwaite. In 2000, Carey was specially commissioned by Shannon Heritage to compose and arrange the music for the show ''Style'' at Bunratty Folk Park in County Clare. The music for this show was recorded by Carey for the 2001 release ''Style - Stories of Irish Dance''. Carey won the 2004 award for LiveIreland.com's composer of the year. In 2009, Carey released his album ''Moving On'', which features Máirtín O'Connor, Paul Brock, Manus McGuire, Denis Ryan, Zoe Conway, Kenneth Rice, Tommy Hayes and others. Newport (, formerly ) is a town in County Tipperary in Ireland. It is in the barony of Owney and Arra. At the 2016 Census the population was 1,995. Location It is located approximately 8 km from Birdhill and 16 km from Limerick. Denis Ryan (singer)
Denis Ryan is an Irish-Canadian folk musician, best known as a member of the popular Irish-Newfoundland band trio Ryan's Fancy, and as a singer and tin whistle player. Biography Born in Newport, County Tipperary, Ireland, Ryan immigrated to Toronto in 1969. He formed the Irish- Canadian folk group Ryan's Fancy in 1970 with Fergus O’Byrne and the late Dermot O’Reilly and moved to St. John's Newfoundland in 1971 to attend Memorial University where he graduated with a degree in Folklore. Ryan and his family moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1980 and have been residing there ever since. Ryan's career has spanned more than 40 years. He has performed all over the world, appearing in over two hundred television shows in both Ireland, USA, and Canada, including 78 TV shows with the Ryan's Fancy Tommy Makem syndicated series. Milwaukee Irish Fest (locally known as Irish Fest) is a yearly Irish-American festival held at the Henry Maier Festival Park, on Lake Michigan, United States, every third weekend in August. The Town Hall (also Town Hall) is a performance space at 123 West 43rd Street, between Broadway and Sixth Avenue near Times Square, in the Theater District of Midtown Manhattan in New York City. It was built from 1919 to 1921 and designed by architects McKim, Mead & White for the League for Political Education. The auditorium has 1,500 seats across two levels and has historically been used for various types of events such as speeches, musical recitals, and film screenings.
