Denis-Constant Martin (born 13 July 1947) is a French scholar. Biography Martin, a graduate of the Institut d'études politiques de Paris and the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales, is the holder of two doctorates, directed by Georges Balandier. From 1969 to 2008, he was research director at the . A researcher at the "Centre d'étude d'Afrique noire" of the Bordeaux University, he teaches political anthropology at the Institut d'études politiques de Bordeaux and has also given courses in the music department of the Paris 8 University, but also, among others, in South Africa, Algeria, the United States and Kenya where in 1980 he founded and directed the "Institut de recherches en Afrique." Fields of research Martin's work is mainly focused on two areas: Political sociology and Political anthropology, notably in Africa, and popular sociomusicology. Karthala is a French publishing house specializing in the history, sociology, religion, languages and geopolitics of developing countries. Its headquarters is at 22-24 boulevard Arago in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, France. Mélanie Georgiades (; born 25 July 1980 in Nicosia), better known by her stage name Diam's (), is a French rapper of Greek Cypriot origin. Biography Mélanie Marie Georgiades was born on July 25, 1980 in Nicosia, capital of Cyprus. Her mother is French and her father is Greek Cypriot. After her parents separated, she arrived in France with her mother at the age of three. She spent her childhood in Paris, then in the department of Essonne, in Brunoy, until the age of thirteen. Actes Sud is a French publishing house based in Arles. It was founded in 1978 by author Hubert Nyssen. By 2013, the company, then headed by Nyssen's daughter, Françoise Nyssen, had an annual turnover of 60 million euros and 60 staff members.
