Dencio's
Dencio's Bar and Grill, simply referred to as Dencio's, is a group of restaurants based in the Philippines. History Dennis Nakpil and Dennis Mariano Jr. thought of creating a restaurant that emphasizes certain Philippine traditions. Their principle was "bringing the BARRIO into the metropolis." Thus, they opened one in Quezon City in 1991. They named it Dencio's. Dencio is a Philippine variant of Dennis, the name of the two founders. In 2004, Dencio's was purchased by Pancake House, Inc. (now Max's Group, Inc.) for . To buy the chain, almost all that money ( or 93.75% of the price) had to be borrowed from banks. Pugad Dencio's Some characters from Pugad Baboy, a famous comic strip in the Philippines, are portrayed in Dencio's ads and menus. This was a concept proposed by two officials of the chain. Sugarfree (band)
Sugarfree is a Filipino rock band currently composed of Jal Taguibao on vocals and bass guitar, and Kaka Quisimbing on drums. Former notable members include chief songwriter and frontman Ebe Dancel on vocals and guitars, and Mitch Singson on drums. Sugarfree had five albums throughout the course of their career: ''Sa Wakas'' (2003), ''Dramachine'' (2004) and the repackaged version of ''Dramachine'' (2006), ''Tala-Arawan'' (2006), ''Sugarfree Live! with the Manila Symphony Orchestra'' (2008), and ''Mornings and Airports'' (2009), all under PolyEast Records (formerly known as EMI Philippines). Pugad Baboy
''Pugad Baboy'' (literally, "swine's nest" in Tagalog) is a comic strip created by Filipino cartoonist Apolonio "Pol" Medina, Jr. The strip is about a Manila community of mostly obese people – "fat as pigs" (''baboy'' is Tagalog for pig). It started appearing in the ''Philippine Daily Inquirer'' on May 18, 1988, and was published exclusively in the Inquirer line of newspapers (Broadsheet ''Inquirer'' and its free concise sister tabloid called '' Inquirer Libre'' and tabloids ''Bandera'' and ''Tumbok''.) Its popularity has spawned numerous compilations, a live-action television series, and merchandise such as T-shirts and figurines. Max's Group, Inc., formerly the Max's Group of Companies, is a restaurant company in the Philippines. History The Max's Group foundation is linked to the establishment of Max's of Manila in 1945 by couple Maximo Jimenez and Ruby Trota in their home serving primarily to American soldiers. which would become the first outlet of the core restaurant brand of the Max's Group.
