Charles Edward Dench (September 6, 1873 – June 28, 1958) was an English first-class cricketer and Test match umpire. Born in 1873 in East Stoke, Nottinghamshire, he played 91 matches for Nottinghamshire as a right-handed batsman and right arm medium bowler between 1897 and 1902. He scored 2660 runs with a best of 88 and took 78 wickets, including a haul of 7 for 28. He then turned to umpiring, standing in the 1909 Ashes Test at Lord's. Sacha Dench is an Australian biologist, conservationist and adventurer. In 2016, she set a Guinness World Record as the first woman to cross the English Channel by paramotor. She is the recipient of the Britannia Trophy and winner of the Green Swan Award. Career In 2016, Dench flew 7000 kilometres across 11 countries in a paramotor, for the purpose of tracking the migrating Bewick's swan from the Russian Arctic to the UK. During that time, she was working as a biologist for Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. Patricia Dench (born 8 March 1932) is an Australian sport shooter. She won the bronze medal in the 25 m pistol in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
