Istog
Istog or Istok ( sq-definite, Istog, Istogu, sr, Исток, ''Istok'') or Burim is a town and municipality located in the District of Peja of western Kosovo. According to the 2011 census, the city of Istog has 5,115 inhabitants, while the municipality has 39,289 inhabitants. Based on the population estimates from the Kosovo Agency of Statistics in 2016, the municipality has 39,982 inhabitants. Name The name of the town comes from the version of the Serbian word ''istok'' (variant ''istek''), meaning "well, water source" referring to the springs of the Istočka river (, literally "spring river"), a tributary to the White Drin river. The name of the nearby village of Vrela, one of the largest settlements in the municipality, also means "springs", as does the newly proposed Albanian name of the town, ''Burimi''. FC Istogu ( sq, Klubi Futbollistik Istogu), commonly known as Istogu is a Football team, football club based in Istok, Istog, Kosovo. The club plays in the First Football League of Kosovo, which is the second tier of football in the country. History and supporters The club have been playing in the lower divisions of Yugoslavia and now Kosovo for almost all the time since they were founded. KF Istogu don't have any big merits which they have been winning. In the season 2007–08, their best scorer ever, Suad Saliagić was sold to FC Prishtina for an unknown sum, he scored 26 goals in 11 games which is a record in Kosovo. The Football Superleague of Kosovo ( sq, Superliga e Futbollit të Kosovës), also known as the ALBI MALL Superleague of Kosovo ( sq, ALBI MALL Superliga e Kosovës) for sponsorship reasons with Albi Mall, is the top level of the Kosovar football league system. The Superleague is organized by the Football Federation of Kosovo and the division currently has a 10-team format. The clubs play each other four times during the season for a 36-match schedule. At the end of the season, the bottom two teams in the division are relegated to the second tier, First Football League of Kosovo.
