Membership In 2011, the Democratic Party had over 40,000 members younger than 30. Every member of the DS who is younger than 30 years old, may become a member of the Democratic Youth. The Democratic Party ( sr, Демократска странка, Demokratska stranka; , DS) is a social-democratic and social-liberal political party in Serbia. The party was officially founded on 3 February 1990 by a group of Serbian intellectuals as a revival of the original Yugoslav Democratic Party. It was one of the main opposition parties to the presidency of Slobodan Milošević during the 1990s.
