Democratic Convergence of La Franja (in Catalan: ''Convergència Democràtica de la Franja''; CDF) is a catalanist and liberal political party active in the Catalan-speaking area of Aragon, known as La Franja. Objectives CDF has two main objectives: * Defence of the Catalan language and culture in La Franja. * Improving the infraestrucure, social services and economy of La Franja. History CDF was founded in 2009 by splitters of Alternativa Cívica, a local party in the municipality of Fraga. In the European elections of the same year the secretary-general of the party participated in the list of Democratic Convergence of Catalonia (CDC). 2011 Spanish Municipal Elections
The 2011 Spanish local elections were held on Sunday, 22 May 2011, to elect all 68,230 councillors in the 8,116 municipalities of Spain and all 1,040 seats in 38 provincial deputations. The elections were held simultaneously with regional elections in thirteen autonomous communities, as well as local elections in the three foral deputations of the Basque Country and the eleven island councils in the Balearic and Canary Islands. The days before the elections were marked by the 2011 Spanish protests which had been held in different cities across Spain since 15 May. ''El Diario Vasco'' (English: ''The Basque Daily'') is a Spanish morning daily newspaper based in San Sebastián, Basque Country. Benabarre (), in Ribagorçan and Aragonese: Benavarri () is a town and municipality in the Aragonese comarca of Ribagorza, in the province of Huesca, Spain. Benabarre is the historical and cultural capital of the comarca. It is part of the geo-linguistic area of La Franja, where Ribagorçan dialect of Catalan is spoken. ''El Punt'' (, meaning in English "The Point") was a Catalan daily newspaper based in Girona, Catalonia (Spain). The newspaper was renamed in 1990 from the original ''Punt Diari'' ('Daily Point').
