Democratic Change (El Salvador)
Democratic Change ( es, Cambio Democrático) is a center-left political party in El Salvador. It was formed by former members of the Christian Democratic Party (PDC), Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN), and United Democratic Center (CDU). It is a social christian and social democratic in ideological orientation, incorporating what the party calls the "democratic left." In the 12 March 2006 legislative election, the party won 3.1% of the popular vote and 2 out of 84 seats. At the January 18, 2009 legislative elections, Democratic Change won 2.1% of the vote and 1 seat. Democratic Change (Panama)
Democratic Change ( es, Cambio Democrático) is a centre-right political party in Panama. The party was founded on May 20, 1998, by Ricardo Martinelli, owner of the Super 99 supermarket chain. At the end of 2013 the party listed more than 500,000 members, making it one of Panama's two largest parties with a membership almost equal to that of the Democratic Revolutionary Party. In the legislative elections in Panama, elections of May 3, 2009, the party won 23.4% of the popular vote and 14 out of 78 seats. In the presidential elections of the same year, the party leader, Ricardo Martinelli, was elected President of Panama with 59.97% of the vote. The party's candidate for the 2014 Panamanian general election, presidential elections of 2014 was José Domingo Arias who led the opinion polls but lost to then vice-president Juan Carlos Varela of the Panameñista Party. Democratic Change (Arabic: التغيير الديمقراطي), also known as DC, formerly Sudan People's Liberation Movement - Democratic Change, is a political party in the Republic of South Sudan. It currently has 4 representatives in the National Legislative Assembly, South Sudan's Legislature, making it the second largest party in South Sudan after the SPLM. The party was founded in June 2009 by Lam Akol to compete in the Sudanese general election, 2010 and act as an alternative to the ruling SPLM. On 6 January 2016, the party's National Council (NC) resolved to change the name of the Party to become the “Democratic Change” (DC), and recommended the new name to the National Delegates Congress for adoption. The Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai (MDC–T) is a centre-left political party and was the main opposition party in the House of Assembly of Zimbabwe ahead of the 2018 elections. After the split of the original Movement for Democratic Change in 2005, the MDC–T remained the major opposition faction, while a smaller faction, the Movement for Democratic Change – Ncube, or MDC–N, was led by Welshman Ncube.
