Demetrius Taylor
Demetrius Latron Taylor (born May 27, 1999) is an American football defensive tackle who is a free agent. He played college football at Appalachian State. College career Taylor played at Appalachian State from 2017–2021. He led the Sun Belt Conference with three forced fumbles in the 2019 season. Professional career Taylor signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2022, following the 2022 NFL Draft. He made the Lions' final 53-man roster out of training camp. He was waived on October 27, 2022, and re-signed to the practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract on January 9, 2023. He was released on May 10, 2023. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. 2022 NFL Draft
The 2022 NFL Draft was the 87th edition of the National Football League's annual draft and was held from April 28–30, 2022, at the Caesars Forum on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The first round was held on Thursday, April 28, and was followed by the second and third rounds on Friday, April 29. The draft concluded with rounds 4–7 on Saturday, April 30.
