Delta Phi Delta (Puerto Rico)
Delta Phi Delta () is a national art honorary society. Organized as the Palette Club on January 10, 1909 at the University of Kansas, it was renamed Delta Phi Delta on 28 May 1912. The society is open to men and women. Its official magazine, ''the Palette'', started publication in 1911. The Fraternity counts Foster Gribble as its founder. The society's key features the Greek letters Delta Phi Delta across an art pallet. Muriel Sibell Wolle, née Muriel Vincent Sibell (1898 – 1977) was an American artist best known for her drawings and paintings of mining communities in the western states. Biography Born in Brooklyn, New York, she graduated from the New York School of Fine and Applied Arts in 1920 with diplomas in advertising and costume design. After graduation, she accepted a teaching position at the Texas State College for Women in Denton, Texas, then served as an instructor in Art at the Parsons School of Design from 1923 to 1926. After a trip to Colorado in 1926, Sibell began looking for a teaching position in the West. She received a B.S. in Art Education from New York University, and later received an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Colorado. Abraham Rattner
Abraham Rattner (July 8, 1895 – February 14, 1978) was an American artist, best known for his richly colored paintings, often with religious subject matter. During World War I, he served in France with the U.S. Army as a camouflage artist. Early life Rattner was born in Poughkeepsie, New York to a Russian-Jewish father and a Romanian-Jewish mother. He initially intended to be an architect, in pursuit of which he studied at George Washington University. Deciding instead to concentrate on painting, he then went on to study art at the Corcoran School of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Wayman Elbridge Adams (September 23, 1883 – April 7, 1959) was an American painter best known for his portraits of famous people. His skill at painting at high speed earned him the nickname 'Lightning'.
