Valerie Masson-Delmotte
Valerie Masson-Delmotte is a French climate scientist and Research Director at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, where she works in the Climate and Environment Sciences Laboratory (LSCE). She uses data from past climates to test models of climate change, and has contributed to several IPCC reports. Early life and education Masson-Delmotte was born 29 October 1971 to two English teachers, and she grew up in Nancy, in the northeast of France. She completed a Diploma of Advanced studies in Engineering with honours at the Ecole Centrale Paris in 1993. She also received her PhD in from the same institution in 1996, in fluid physics and transfers. Her doctoral thesis was "Climate simulation of the Holocene means using general circulation models of the atmosphere; Impacts of parameterization”. Roger Delmotte
Roger Delmotte (born 20 September 1925) is a French classical trumpeter. Life Born in Roubaix, Delmotte first played the flugelhorn, a wind instrument, in a French wind musical ensemble. After his first studies with Maurice Leclercq at the Roubaix Conservatory, he was awarded the Prix d'honneur in 1944. He continued his studies in 1944 at the Conservatoire de Paris with Eugène Foveau. He won the First Prize for trumpet in 1946 and was the first trumpeter to win the First Prize at the Geneva International Music Competition in 1950. He held the principal trumpet console of the Paris Opera from 1950 to 1985. Delmotte was solo trumpet with many orchestras (France, Germany, Austria, Japan, Yugoslavia), trumpet teacher at the Versailles Conservatory until 1994, professor of trumpet at the Paris Conservatory, assistant to Raymond Sabarich, then professor from 1966. Hans Delmotte
Hans Delmotte (15 December 1917, in Liège – 1945) was a Nazi SS doctor at the Auschwitz concentration camp in the branch of the Hygiene Institute of the Waffen-SS. He came from Liège, Belgium. Initially he refused to take part in selections, allegedly going as far as to tell his superiors "You can send me to the front or gas me myself, but I won't do it." By the late fall of 1944 he finally was persuaded to take part in selections. For Delmotte's dissertation, he reserved a Jewish prisoner doctor and professor to assist him. For this research, Delmotte took part in typhus experiments on prisoners at Auschwitz. Delmotte's dissertation entitled "Contributions to pathological physiology of gastric secretion in typhoid fever" was already completed in 1944. After the evacuation of Auschwitz in January 1945, Delmotte briefly continued to work in Dachau concentration camp. Henri Delmotte
Henri Philibert Joseph Delmotte (14 March 1822 – 10 July 1884) was a Belgian playwright, librettist and novelist. Delmotte was born in Baudour, Hainaut (province), Hainaut and studied law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, graduating in 1845. He entered public service in the Ministry of the Interior, and served as commissioner of the arrondissement in Nivelles from 1849 to 1859. He worked to establish a French-language national theatre in Belgium and from 1879 to 1880 wrote handbills and highly polemic newspaper articles. Beside numerous magazine articles, Delmotte also published books and comedies, in which he describes the contemporary Belgian middle classes. Delmotte died at Brussels in 1884. Delmotte is a small lunar impact crater that lies just to the east of the much larger crater Cleomedes, and to the north of the Mare Crisium, in the northeastern part of the Moon. Delmotte appears foreshortened when viewed from the Earth, although not sufficiently to obscure the interior details.
