Antoine Guillaume Delmas
Antoine-Guillaume Maurailhac Delmas de La Coste Delmas (3 January 1766 – 30 October 1813) was a French military officer who served in the French Revolutionary Wars and Napoleonic Wars. Delmas was killed at the Battle of Leipzig. cites Delmas was born in Argentat in the Kingdom of France on 3 January 1766. He was wounded at the Battle of Leipzig and later died on 30 October 1813 in Leipzig. His name is inscribed on the east pillar of the Arc de Triomphe. Early Military Experiences In 1781, Delmas became a gentleman cadet in the Touraine infantry regiment. He was commissioned as a sous-lieutenant three years later before being promoted to a lieutenant in 1787. Delmas was dismissed from the regiment for insubordination in 1788. By June 1791, Delmas was a lieutenant in the gendarmerie of his home département of Corrèze. Delmas is a small maize farming town situated east of Johannesburg in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The town is located some 19 km north-east of Springs and 73 km south-east of Pretoria. History The town was laid out in 1907 on the farm ''Witklip'' (Afrikaans for ''White Stone'') and has been administered by a town council since 1965. The name was given by the Frenchman Frank Campbell Dumat, former owner of Witklip, after his grandfather's farm in France. He originally laid out the town with 192 residential stands, 48 4 ha small holdings and 138 ha of commonage but by 1909 the governments added a further 5,500 ha to the town. Delmas ( ht, Dèlma) is a commune in the Port-au-Prince Arrondissement, in the Ouest department of Haiti. Delmas itself is an urban continuation of the capital city. Delmas is also the location of much of the area's commercial and industrial enterprise. Delmas is traversed by two major roadways. Autoroute de Delmas runs from Route National No. 1 in the northwest corner of the commune to Pétion-Ville on the southeast corner. Ratislav "Raša" Ðelmaš ( sr-cyr, Ратислав-Раша Ђелмаш; 26 January 1950 – 28 October 2021) was a Serbian rock musician, best known as a member of the bands YU Grupa and Zebra. Julián Javier Delmás Germán (born 20 April 1995) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a right back for Racing de Ferrol. Club career Delmás played youth football with Real Zaragoza.
