Delivery Drone
A delivery drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designed to transport items such as packages, medicines, foods, postal mails, and other light goods. Large corporations like Amazon, DHL, and FedEx have started to use drone delivery services. Drones were used effectively in the fight against COVID-19, delivering millions of vaccines and medical supplies across the globe. Drone deliveries are highly efficient, significantly speeding up delivery times and avoiding challenges traditional delivery vehicles may encounter. Given their life-saving potential, use cases for medical supplies in particular have become the most widely tested type of drone delivery, with trials and pilot projects in dozens of countries such as Australia, Canada, Botswana, Ghana, Uganda, the UK, the US among others (see below). In Canada, the designations remote, isolated, outport and fly-in refer to a settlement that is either a long distance from larger settlements or lacks transportation links that are typical in more populated areas. Definition In responding to the avian flu outbreak of 2009, a Canadian government body (Public Health Network H1N1 Task Force) published the following working definitions. The definition of isolated is borrowed from Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) and the definition of remote is borrowed from Health Canada. Canada also has ''fly-in communities'' that lack road, rail, or water connections and rely entirely on bush aviation. St Mary's Hospital is a hospital located on the outskirts of Newport on the Isle of Wight. It is run by the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. History The hospital was designed by Ahrends, Burton and Koralek following a study into low-energy hospitals commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Security in 1981. It was completed in 1990 and formally opened in 1991. An archaeological investigation was carried out on the site in 2009 but found no features or artifacts of archaeological interest. St Mary's is also the site of a sculpture named ''Land Sea Light Koan'', often shortened to 'the Koan'. Lochgilphead (; ) is a town and former burgh in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, with a population of around 2,300 people. It is the administrative centre of Argyll and Bute Council. The village lies at the end of Loch Gilp (a branch of Loch Fyne) and lies on the banks of the Crinan Canal. Skyports Drone Services is a British provider and operator of eVTOL drones for cargo delivery, survey and monitoring. The company became famous for using drones to carry Covid-19 samples and test kits in some parts of Argyll and Bute which has been described as a UK first. Moneygall () is a village in County Offaly, bordering County Tipperary, in Ireland. It is situated on the R445 road between Dublin and Limerick. There were 374 people living in the village as of the 2022 census. Moneygall has a Catholic church, motorway service station, a car sales and repair centre, a national school, a Garda station and a pub. The nearest Church of Ireland church, Borrisnafarney, is 2 km from the village beside the former Loughton Demesne. The village received international attention for being the ancestral home of Falmouth Kearney, a maternal great-great-great-grandfather of Barack Obama. Obama visited the village in 2011.
