Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. The Delaware Wizards were a professional soccer club based in Wilmington and New Castle, Delaware. The team played their first game in 1993 and their last in 2000. They played in the USISL. They were considered DC United's farm team but ended up folding due to financial issues and losing players to other clubs. Many players went to MLS and other USL teams. Delaware Dynasty was an American soccer team, founded in 2006. The team was a member of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, until 2007, when the team left the league and the franchise was terminated. The Central Delaware SA Future was a North American professional soccer team based in Dover, Delaware. Founded in 2005, the team played in Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), a national amateur league at the third tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The team ceased operation after the 2010 season.
