Delaney Davidson
Delaney Davidson (born 15 December 1972) is a singer-songwriter from Lyttelton, New Zealand. He is known for his musical production, guitar work, and being a multi-instrumentalist. Besides his music, Davidson is also involved in graphics, visual art, theatre, and film. He frequently performs solo with his Ghost Orchestra but has collaborated with various projects. Davidson's musical style is influenced by folk, Noise music, rock, and country, while being firmly rooted in the blues. Early life and family Born in Auckland, Davidson is the son of John William Davidson and Glyn Ellen Abbott. Bruce Russell (musician)
Bruce Russell (born 1960) is a New Zealand experimental musician and writer. He is a founding member and guitarist of the noise rock trio The Dead C and the free noise combo A Handful of Dust (with Alastair Galbraith). He has released solo albums featuring guitar and tape manipulation, and has contributed articles to British music magazine ''The Wire''. He established the Xpressway record label, which was active from 1985 until the early 1990s, releasing mostly cassettes and a few records. Russell then founded the Corpus Hermeticum record label. Xpressway released only music by New Zealanders, usually song-based. Corpus Hermeticum releases, in contrast, may feature New Zealand or international artists, and they eschew song forms in favour of free-form, experimental, usually improvised sounds. Jordan Luck
Jordan William Hunter Luck (born 15 October 1961) is the former lead singer and songwriter of the New Zealand rock band The Exponents. He was born in Vanderhoof in the province of British Columbia, Canada. His family moved to Tokarahi (near Oamaru) and later moved to Geraldine where he grew up. He attended University of Canterbury and College House. He is now in a band called The Jordan Luck Band. At the 2007 APRA Silver Scroll Awards on 18 September, Luck was named as the first inductee to the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame. Harry Lyon (musician)
Harry Lyon is a New Zealand musician and songwriter. He first came to prominence as a member of the band Hello Sailor after playing with Christchurch top 40 band Beam. After Hello Sailor, Lyon formed Coup D'État with Jan Preston, Neil Hannan and Steve Osborne (who was replaced by Paul Dunningham after a short time). They were awarded the 1981 RIANZ Single of the Year for "Dr I Like Your Medicine". The band split the following year. In 1982 Graham Brazier formed the Legionnaires and Lyon joined a revised line-up, but Brazier suddenly formed a new band. Lyon joined Dave McArtney in the Pink Flamingos for a short time. ''The Eastern'' or ''Sharghi'' is a 2018 documentary film directed by Masoud Taheri which deals with the life, works and thoughts of Toshihiko Izutsu. This film is the only documentary ever made about Izutsu. Production The making of this film lasted for four years, shot in twelve countries, including Iran, Japan, France, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Canada, America, Syria, Spain, and Russia, and the interviewees speak eleven languages. In order to produce this film, interviews were conducted with about 120 people, and finally, after evaluation, the words of more than sixty people were included in the film. Reception The review session for this documentary was held in August 2017 with Hassan Balkhari and Akbar Alami speaking at the Iranian National Library and Records Organization. Hannah Sian Topp (born 1990), known professionally as Aldous Harding, is a New Zealand folk singer-songwriter, based in Lyttelton, New Zealand.
