__NOTOC__ Delamere is a locality in the Northern Territory of Australia about south of the territory capital of Darwin. The locality consists of the following land (from north to south): # The Aroona and Scott Creek pastoral leases, # The Willeroo, Mathison Station, Stapleton Station and Dixie Station pastoral leases, and # The Delamere pastoral lease, the Delamere Air Weapons Range and land identified as NT Portion 2119. As of 2020, it has an area of . The locality's boundaries and name were gazetted on 4 April 2007. Its name is derived from the Delamere Station and ultimately from the name of the South Australian home of Dr WJ Browne, a former leaseholder. The Victoria Highway passes through the locality from the Stuart Highway in the east to the Western Australian border in the west. The Division of Lingiari is an Australian electoral division in the Northern Territory that covers the entirety of the territory outside of the Division of Solomon, which covers Darwin and surrounding areas. The division also includes the Christmas and Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Lingiari includes all of the Northern Territory's remote Indigenous communities, most of whom vote when visited by mobile polling teams during the election campaign. 2016 Australian Census
The 2016 Australian census was the 17th national population census held in Australia. The census was officially conducted with effect on Tuesday, 9 August 2016. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as – an increase of 8.8 per cent or people over the . Buntine Highway
The Buntine Highway is a 581-kilometre highway in the Northern Territory and Western Australia. It runs from the Victoria Highway via Top Springs and Kalkarindji and then to Nicholson, Western Australia. The section from the Victoria Highway to Kalkaringi is a single-lane sealed road with a few dual-lane sections; the remaining section is unsealed. Funding for maintenance is provided by the Northern Territory government. The highway was named in 1996 after Noel Buntine who established a livestock transportation business known as Buntine Roadways in the 1950s in northern Australia. The Victoria Highway links the Great Northern Highway in Western Australia with the Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory. The highway is a part of the Perth - Darwin National Highway link. Delamere Air Weapons Range
Delamere Air Weapons Range is a bombing range operated by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), located in the Northern Territory of Australia. The facility is located about south of the town of Katherine and RAAF Base Tindal, Australia's largest airbase. The Delamere facility is managed round-the-clock by a detachment of eight members of the No. 322 Expeditionary Combat Support Squadron RAAF. Its large area——and of vertical airspace clearance allow virtually unrestricted freedom of tactical testing and training using any conventional weapons. In addition to its large mass inert weapon range, Delamere also has two practice ranges for smaller weapons testing, a simulated airfield complex, and a simulated township constructed from shipping containers named "Tac Town". Delamere Station (pastoral Lease)
Delamere Station is a pastoral lease that operates as a cattle station in the Northern Territory of Australia. It is situated about east of Timber Creek and south west of Katherine in the Victoria River District. It is composed of undulating to hilly terrain with basaltic black soil supporting Flinders and Mitchell grass. The creek and river systems grow blue, sardie and stylos grasses. The station is currently owned by the Australian Agricultural Company that acquired it in 2004. It occupies an area of and has a carrying capacity of approximately 22,000 head of cattle and is managed by Scott and Bec Doherty. The property is broken up into 28 paddocks and 14 holding paddocks with five sets of steel yards.
