Delage (group)
Delage were a British girl group, with four members (named Rhonda, Karena, Charlotte and Judy) promoted by the record production trio, Stock Aitken Waterman. The initial promo pressings of their first single carried the group name "Dazzle", but it was later changed to "Delage". Their first single issued in December 1990, was a cover of the Hues Corporation hit, " Rock the Boat", backed with the Stock Aitken Waterman-penned "I Wanna Be Your Everything". It reached No. 63 on the UK Singles Chart. Soon after the release of the single, Judy and Charlotte left the band and two new members, Emma and Frances, were recruited as replacements. This line-up debuted as backing dancers on the video clip to Pat & Mick's "Gimme Some" in April 1991. A follow up single was issued by this new lineup in October 1991 called "Running Back for More", backed with "I Wanna Shout About It", both written by Stock Aitken Waterman which failed to chart. Delage recorded one more song with Stock Aitken ...

Girl Group
A girl group is a music act featuring several female singers who generally harmonize together. The term "girl group" is also used in a narrower sense in the United States to denote the wave of American female pop music singing groups, many of whom were influenced by doo-wop and which flourished in the late 1950s and early 1960s between the decline of early rock and roll and start of the British Invasion. All-female bands, in which members also play instruments, are usually considered a separate phenomenon. These groups are sometimes called "girl bands" to differentiate, although this terminology is not universally followed. With the advent of the music industry and radio broadcasting, a number of girl groups emerged, such as the Andrews Sisters. The late 1950s saw the emergence of all-female singing groups as a major force, with 750 distinct girl groups releasing songs that reached US and UK music charts from 1960 to 1966. The Supremes alone held 12 number-one singles on the ...

Pat & Mick
Pat and Mick were a British pop duo, consisting of popular radio personalities Pat Sharp and Mick Brown, both of whom are from London. They released a charity single, a cover version, each year from 1988 to 1993, achieving a top-10 hit with their 1989 single "I Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet". The royalties from their record sales were donated to Capital FM's 'Help A London Child' charity. All their singles were produced by Stock Aitken & Waterman except "Shake Your Groove Thing" and "Hot Hot Hot", both of which were produced by Stock & Waterman. The relationship began when Brown joked on air with producer Pete Waterman about turning the DJs into pop stars. In 1993, they released their only album, ''Don't Stop Dancin'', which compiled all their singles and B-sides on a continuous mix. In 2010, Pat & Mick appeared on the Identity Parade round on ''Never Mind the Buzzcocks''. However, Phill Jupitus's team were only asked to identify Mick. In 2011, Sharp entered '' I'm a Celebrit ...

Remix
A remix (or reorchestration) is a piece of media which has been altered or contorted from its original state by adding, removing, or changing pieces of the item. A song, piece of artwork, book, video, poem, or photograph can all be remixes. The only characteristic of a remix is that it appropriates and changes other materials to create something new. Most commonly, remixes are a subset of audio mixing in music and song recordings. Songs may be remixed for a large variety of reasons: * to adapt or revise a song for radio or nightclub play * to create a stereo or surround sound version of a song where none was previously available * to improve the fidelity of an older song for which the original master has been lost or degraded * to alter a song to suit a specific music genre or radio format * to use some of the original song's materials in a new context, allowing the original song to reach a different audience * to alter a song for artistic purposes * to provide additional version ...

Record Production
A record producer is a recording project's creative and technical leader, commanding studio time and coaching artists, and in popular genres typically creates the song's very sound and structure.Virgil Moorefield"Introduction" ''The Producer as Composer: Shaping the Sounds of Popular Music'' (Cambridge, MA & London, UK: MIT Press, 2005).Richard James Burgess, ''The History of Music Production'' (New York: Oxford University Press, 2014)pp 12–13Allan Watson, ''Cultural Production in and Beyond the Recording Studio'' (New York: Routledge, 2015)pp 25–27 The record producer, or simply the producer, is likened to film director and art director. Rock The Boat (The Hues Corporation Song)
"Rock the Boat" is a song by American trio The Hues Corporation, written by Wally Holmes. "Rock the Boat" was first featured on their 1973 debut studio album ''Freedom for the Stallion'' (the single edit later appeared on certain editions of the band's 1974 second album ''Rockin' Soul''). It was released as the third single from the album in early 1974, to follow up ''Stallion''s title song, which had peaked at number sixty-three on the Hot 100, and "Miracle Maker (Sweet Soul Shaker)" which did not chart. Initially, "Rock the Boat" appeared as though it would also flop, as months went by without any radio airplay or sales activity. Not until the song became a disco favorite in New York did Top 40 radio finally pick up on the song, leading the record to finally enter the Hot 100 and zip up the chart to number one the week of July 6, 1974, in only its seventh week on the chart (and fourth week in the Top 40). The record also reached the top ten in the United Kingdom. "Rock the Boa ...

Hit Record
A hit song, also known as a hit record, hit single or simply a hit, is a recorded song or instrumental that becomes broadly popular or well-known. Although ''hit song'' means any widely played or big-selling song, the specific term ''hit record'' usually refers to a single that has appeared in an official music chart through repeated radio airplay audience impressions, or significant streaming data and commercial sales. Historically, before the dominance of recorded music, commercial sheet music sales of individual songs were similarly promoted and tracked as singles and albums are now. For example, in 1894, Edward B. Marks and Joe Stern released ''The Little Lost Child'', which sold more than a million copies nationwide, based mainly on its success as an illustrated song, analogous to today's music videos. Chart hits In the United States and the United Kingdom, a single is usually considered a hit when it reaches the top 40 of the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 or the top 75 of the UK ...
