Dela () (d. c. 894), count of Empúries (862–894), was the son of Sunyer I of Empúries, whom he succeeded along with his brother, Sunyer II of Empúries, in 862. Dame Dela Smith DBE DL (born 10 October 1952) is a retired British schoolteacher and educator. She was Headteacher at Beaumont Hill Technology College, Darlington, from 1992 until she retired in 2010, after 35 years in the field of education. Beaumont Hill is Darlington's only special school and has the full range of pupils with special educational needs including emotional behavioural difficulties. Smith has had extensive experience at a national level and is a regular speaker at conferences. She is currently a member of the Special Educational Needs Working group and was on the working group producing a report on the future role of special schools. She is also a strategic Board member of the new NCSL North East affiliated centre. Dele Yampolsky ( he, דלה ימפולסקי; born 28 July 1988 as/ Bamidele Ogunsanya) is a Nigerian-born Israeli footballer who plays as a midfielder for Maccabi Sha'arayim. His first name "Bamidele" means "Follow me home" in Yoruba. His unique surname is the result of being adopted by his stepfather who is Israeli of Russian descent and moved him and his mother from Nigeria to Israel after getting married. Dela, Oklahoma
Dela is an unincorporated community in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma, United States, located six miles southeast of Antlers. It is within the jurisdiction of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. A United States Post Office operated here from May 12, 1920 to October 31, 1954. The post office and community were named for Dela M. Whitaker, local schoolteacher. Dela was originally known as White Church, or ''Itissa Busha'' in the Choctaw language, after a Methodist church built by a white settler for use by Choctaw Indians. The date of its construction is unknown, but antedated the settlement in 1886 of nearby Antlers; the earliest grave in its cemetery is dated 1883. When built it was located in what was then Cedar County, a part of the Apukshunnubbee District of the Choctaw Nation. In the early 1870s, Colonel Victor M. DeLaveaga Disc Golf Course, commonly known as "DeLa", is a world-renowned 29-hole disc golf course in the hills of DeLaveaga Park above Santa Cruz, California. It was established in 1984. It boasts one of the original long disc golf courses, with some holes measuring more than 500 feet in length. The 27th hole, known as "Top of the World," is one of the most famous holes in disc golf; the tee box is situated nearly 600 feet from the pin—and 100 feet above it. DeLaveaga placed #10 on Release Point's 2019 list of World's Best Disc Golf Courses. Designed by Professional Disc Golf Association hall of famer and World Disc Games founder Tom Schot. It is a "straightforward love song", featuring Johnny Clegg singing of waiting for his love, and of being content in their presence.
