Del Valle ( ) is an airport-defined edge city of Austin and part of the Austin–Round Rock–San Marcos Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is founded upon the 19th-century Santiago Del Valle leagues, the largest granted land parcel in Travis County. It is an unincorporated area in southeastern Travis County, Texas, United States. It has no local government of its own and no official boundaries. But Austin has annexed portions, including the site of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in 1990. After that, most recently in 2013, the city added more Del Valle territory to the east (8 to 13 miles southeast of downtown Austin). Recent industrial developments include those by Tesla, which has received significant tax relief from Del Valle Independent School District, rated at $60 million. Lake Del Valle is a storage reservoir located southeast of Livermore, in Alameda County, California. It is within Del Valle Regional Park. Lake description It is on Arroyo Valle (Spanish for "creek of the valley") in the Diablo Range. The lake is formed by Del Valle Dam, completed in 1968. The lake and dam are part of the California State Water Project, as part of the South Bay Aqueduct. The lake serves in part as off-stream storage for the South Bay Aqueduct. Pedro Augusto del Valle (August 28, 1893 – April 28, 1978) was a United States Marine Corps officer who became the first Hispanic to reach the rank of Lieutenant general (United States), lieutenant general. His military career included service in World War I, Haiti and Nicaragua during the Banana Wars of the 1920s, and in World War II, the Battle of Guadalcanal and the Battle of Okinawa (Commanding General of the 1st Marine Division (United States), 1st Marine Division).
