Del Mio Meglio (compilation Series)
''Del mio meglio'' is a series of compilation albums by the Italian singer Mina, released from 1971 to 1987. Each of them is an anthology of Mina's hits and significant songs taken from her official albums. Also, songs not previously released on albums appeared in such collections for the first time. Each compilation was reissued in different years on different media: vinyl, Stereo8 (not all), cassette and compact disc (later also remastered and released digitally). Various box sets were also released. Mina Anna Maria Mazzini (born 25 March 1940) or Mina Anna Quaini (for the Swiss civil registry), known mononymously as Mina, is an Italian-Swiss singer and actress. She was a staple of television variety shows and a dominant figure in Italian pop music from the 1960s to the mid-1970s, known for her three-octave vocal range, the agility of her soprano voice, and her image as an Feminism, emancipated woman. Riccardo Cocciante (; born 20 February 1946), also known in French-speaking countries and the U.S. as Richard Cocciante (), is an Italian singer, composer, theatre man and musician. He acquired French citizenship. Marco Luberti (born 13 February 1941) is an Italian lyricist, record producer and singer-songwriter. Life and career Born in Rome, after graduating from the liceo artistico Luberti started studying piano and performing as a keyboardist in a number of beat groups. Hoagland Howard Carmichael (November 22, 1899 – December 27, 1981) was an American musician, composer, songwriter, actor and lawyer. Carmichael was one of the most successful Tin Pan Alley songwriters of the 1930s, and was among the first singer-songwriters in the age of mass media to utilize new communication technologies such as television, electronic microphones, and sound recordings. Margherita (song)
"Margherita" is an Italian ballad song written by Marco Luberti and Riccardo Cocciante, arranged by Vangelis and performed by Riccardo Cocciante. It was the first single from Cocciante's 1976 album ''Concerto per Margherita''. The song was premiered in the RAI television program ''Adesso Musica''. It peaked at the first place on the Italian singles chart, and is considered as the song which definitely consecrated Cocciante to fame following the success of his 1974 single "Bella senz'anima". According to Luberti, the lyrics were written straight at 4am. In 1978 Cocciante released Spanish, French and English language versions of the song, respectively titled "Margarita", "Marguerite" and "Just For You". Georgia On My Mind
"Georgia on My Mind" is a 1930 song written by Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell and first recorded that same year by Hoagy Carmichael. However, the song has been most often associated with soul singer Ray Charles, who was a native of the U.S. state of Georgia and recorded it for his 1960 album ''The Genius Hits the Road''. In 1979, the State of Georgia designated Ray Charles' version the official state song. The song has become part of the Great American Songbook tradition.
