''Defying Gravity'' is the sixth studio album by Australian country music artist Keith Urban. It was released on 31 March 2009 via Capitol Records Nashville. The album produced five singles, released between 2008 and 2010 respectively. The album sold 171,000 copies during its first week of release. The album was nominated for both the Grammy Award for Best Country Album and the Country Music Association Award for Album of the Year but lost both to Taylor Swift's ''Fearless''. Keith Lionel Urban (born 26 October 1967) is an Australian-American musician, singer, guitarist and songwriter known for his work in country music. Recognized with four Grammy Awards, Urban also received fifteen Academy of Country Music Awards, including the Jim Reeves International Award, thirteen CMA Awards and six ARIA Music Awards. Monty Powell (born June 1, 1961) is an American country music songwriter best known for collaborating with Keith Urban, and for producing albums by Diamond Rio. Powell's first songwriting credit was a jingle for an Allstate commercial. ''II'' is the second studio album by the American country music duo The Kinleys. It was released in 2000 (see 2000 in country music) as their second and final album for Epic Records. Background The Kinleys worked with the producers of their debut album, Russ Zavitson and Tony Haselden, for their follow-up album, and released the single "My Heart Is Still Beating" in July 1999. The single, however, failed to reach the Country top 40, and the album, which was to be self-titled and released on October 6, 1999, was put on hold by Epic Records, who decided to bring in Country artist Radney Foster to produce songs on the album in order to broaden the duo's sound and regain chart appeal. The Kinleys were an American country music duo composed of identical twin sisters Heather and Jennifer Kinley (born November 5, 1970). Between 1997 and 2000, they recorded two albums for Epic Records (1997's '' Just Between You and Me'' and 2000's '' II''). Abra Moore (born June 8, 1969) is an American folk-styled rock singer-songwriter. Moore was a founding member of the Hawaiian rock band Poi Dog Pondering, but left to pursue a solo career after the group's move to Texas in the late 1980s.
