Club Atlético Defensor Lima is a Perúvian football club located in the district of Breña, Lima. The club was founded on July 31, 1931. The club plays in the Copa Perú, which is the third division of the Peruvian league. History The club was 1973 Torneo Descentralizado champion. The club have played at the highest level of Peruvian football on twenty three occasions, from 1961 Peruvian Primera División until 1978 Torneo Descentralizado, and 1989 Torneo Descentralizado until 1994 Torneo Descentralizado when was relegated. The club played in the 1974 Copa Libertadores, but was eliminated by Millonarios and São Paulo FC in the semifinals. Estadio Nacional Del Perú
The National Stadium of Peru is a multi-purpose stadium located in Lima, Peru. Its current capacity is 40,086 seats as stated by the Peruvian Football Federation without the lodges for some thousands more. The stadium was first inaugurated on 27 October 1952 for the 1953 South American Championship—replacing the Stadium Nacional—and is Peru's principal and national stadium. The Peruvian football league system is a complex system. Though the general outline includes the Liga 1, Liga 2 and Copa Perú. The Copa Perú is very large involving several stages and leagues within it. In addition, the Copa Perú is played within a year. Copa Libertadores
The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the '' Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Latin American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''America's Liberators Cup''". 1974 Copa Simón Bolívar (Venezuela)
The 1974 Copa Simón Bolívar (English: ''Simon Bolivar Cup'') was an international football competition organized by the Venezuelan Football Federation. The idea of this competition was to create a tournament among the champions clubs of the countries liberated by Simon Bolivar. It was played six times from its first edition in 1970 to the last in 1976, thus integrating the league champions clubs of Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia. Due to its format, it was a historical precedent of the Copa Merconorte, played between the same Bolivarian countries or the Andean Community from 1998 until the 2001 edition. Ligas Provinciales De Lima Y Callao
The Ligas Provinciales de Lima y Callao, the second division of Peruvian football (soccer) in 1935 until 1940. The tournament was played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. This championship remained in force until 1940. Initially the Liga Provincial de Lima played the role of the first division. However, the 1936 season, it became the lower category of the honor division. In that same year, the Liga Provincial de Lima merged with the Liga Provincial del Callao to form the 1936 Peruvian Primera División Unificada de Lima y Callao, Primera División Unificada de Lima y Callao. For the following years, Liga Provincial de Lima competed together with Liga Provincial del Callao to obtain promotion to the division of honor. Liguilla De Ascenso A Segunda División (Perú)
The Liguilla de Ascenso a Segunda División, was a championship of yesteryear that existed in Perú where the champion was promoted to play in the Segunda División the following year (except in its last edition that was promoted to the Primera División). It began to be played in 1954 with the champions of the Ligas Provinciales de Lima y Callao. In the following years, the champion of the Liga de los Balnearios del Sur, the Liga Distrital de San Isidro and, in its latest editions, other districts of Lima joined.
