Defence View ( ur, ڈ یفنس ویو ) is a neighborhood of Jamshed Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan but it is in Dh A part. There are several ethnic groups including Hazaras, Muhajirs, Punjabis, Sindhis, Kashmiris, Seraikis, Pakhtuns, Balochis, Memons, Bohras, Ismailis, etc. Over 99% of the population is Muslim. Iqra University's main campus is located in Defence View. Royal Grammar School is oldest school in Phase 1 area. The Defence View Graveyard is a major cemetery in the area. As because of other projects and shopping malls , Playground and a mosque the area value is increased as it had all facelities available. Jamshed Town
Jamshed Town ( sd, جمشيد ٽائون , ur, ) lies in the central part of Karachi, Pakistan. To the northwest is Liaquatabad Town across the Lyari River, while to the east is Gulshan Town and to the southeast is Korangi Town across the Malir River. Jamshed is bordered by Karachi Cantonment and Clifton Cantonment to the west. The population of Jamshed Town was estimated to be about 730,000 at the 1998 census, of which 99% are Muslim. Urdu speaking constitute an overwhelming majority of the population. History Jamshed Town was named after Jamshed Nusserwanjee Mehta. In 1922, he was elected president of the Karachi Municipality, an office which he occupied till October, 1932. He was born in 1886 in Karachi and died on 8 August 1952. It is one of the government colonies like Martin Quarters, Clyton Quarters or Jamshed Quarters in Karachi, where housing unite is allotted to an employee of federal government according to entitlement and transfer of house allowance from their monthly remuneration as rent to the Estate Office, a department in the Ministry of Housing & Works. Garden East ( ur, گارڈ ن ایسٹ ) is a neighborhood in Karachi East district of Karachi, Pakistan. It is administered as part of Jamshed Town, which was disbanded in 2011 but later restored in early 2022. This area surrounds the Karachi Zoological Gardens (former name Gandhi Garden) hence it is popularly known as Gardens.
