Deeper (band)
Deeper is an American indie rock/post punk band from Chicago consisting of Nic Gohl (guitar, vocals), Drew McBride (guitar, bass, synthesizer), Shiraz Bhatti (drums), and Kevin Fairbairn (bass). History Formation and early career Deeper was initially formed as a surf and dream pop band in 2014. Singer and guitarist Nic Gohl started the band with singer Caroline Campbell, drummer Shiraz Bhatti, bassist Ben Taylor, and eventually recruited childhood friend Michael Clawson on guitar. The band was an active part of the Chicago DIY music scene, eventually releasing a pair of demos on producer/engineer Dave Vettraino's imprint Public House Sound Recordings in June 2014. In 2015 the band began recording a full length record at Treehouse Records, but after being dissatisfied with the recordings decided to pursue a different direction sonically. Corridor is a Canadian indie rock band from Montreal, Quebec, consisting of vocalist and bassist Dominic Berthiaume, guitarist Julian Perreault, guitarist and vocalist Jonathan Robert and drummer Julien Bakvis, with the addition of multi-instrumentalist Samuel Gougoux in live performances. The first francophone band ever signed to the influential indie label Sub Pop, they are most noted for their 2019 album ''Junior'', which was a longlisted nominee for the 2020 Polaris Music Prize. Depeche Mode are an English electronic music band formed in Basildon, Essex, in 1980. The band currently consists of Dave Gahan (lead vocals and co-songwriting) and Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, co-lead vocals and main songwriting). The Pitchfork Music Festival is an annual summer music festival organized by ''Pitchfork Media'' and held in Union Park in Chicago, Illinois. Starting in 2011, the festival announced a branch staged in Paris at Grande halle de la Villette. The festival, which is normally held over three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) in July, focuses primarily on artists and bands from the alternative rock, hip hop, electronic and dance music genres, although it has also ranged into hardcore punk, experimental rock and jazz in its lineups. While it started as a showcase for just the "cutting edge", it later took on a broader depth and vision, keeping the cutting-edge focus but also including important artists and acts that have influenced newer performers and artists. The Pickathon Music Festival (commonly called Pickathon or Pickathon Festival) is an annual three-day music festival located just outside Portland, Oregon on Pendarvis Farm. Occurring nearly every August since 1999, the festival has hosted a wide variety of artists from genres including indie, rock, rap, folk and bluegrass. Finom (formerly known as OHMME, and Homme) is a rock band from Chicago, which singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist duo Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart formed in 2014. Since 2016, Matt Carroll has been FINOM's drummer. Background Both Cunningham and Stewart attended Whitney Young Magnet High School on the city's near west side. While Macie Stewart was in high school, she played keyboards and sang in Kids These Days. Adding electric guitar, too, Stewart co-founded Marrow with Cunningham's brother, Liam Cunningham (a.k.a. Liam Kazar), in 2013 after Kids These Days disbanded. Drummer Matt Carroll also played in Marrow.
