Deepali is a former Indian actress known for her work in the Kannada films ''Nanna Preethiya Hudugi'' (2001) and ''Joke Falls'' (2004). Career Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar was conducting walk-in interviews to find a heroine for ''Nanna Preethiya Hudugi'' (2001), a Kannada film that takes place in and around Michigan. Mano Murthy helped him find Deepa, who was studying her final year at the University of California, Berkeley majoring in Business Administration and minoring in premed. She went to India for a screen test before she was selected for the film, which was based on a book by Chandrashekar. She was rechristened Deepali for the film and made her debut alongside newcomer Dhyan. The film was shot during her vacation. A critic wrote that "Deepali acts with a lot of grace and confidence". ''Nanna Preethiya Hudugi'' () is a 2001 Indian Kannada-language romance film directed and written by Nagathihalli Chandrashekar. It stars newcomers Dhyan and Deepali in lead roles and actors such as Lokesh, Bhavya and Suresh Heblikar in other prominent roles. The film is produced by Jyothi Shankar and Uma Shankar for East West Creations India (Pvt) Ltd. The story is based on Chandrashekar's own decade-old short story "Malenada Hudugi, Bayaluseeme Huduga". Joke Falls
''Joke Falls'' is a 2004 Indian Kannada-language comedy movie, directed by Ashok Patil and produced by Atlanta Nagendra. Music was composed by Mano Murthy. The movie is a remake of 1975 Hindi movie '' Chupke Chupke'' which itself remake of 1971 Bengali movie '' Chhadmabeshi''. Production Director Patil devised the basic plot of the story from the Hindi movie Chupke Chupke and reworked it to give it a fresh look. Patil then recruited Ramesh to act in the film. Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar is an Indian director, actor, screenwriter and a lyricist who predominantly works in Kannada Cinema. He made his film debut as a screenplay writer in ''Kadina Benki'' (1986) which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film and the Karnataka State Award. His directorial debut was '' Undu Hoda Kondu Hoda'' (1991) for which he won the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Story.
