A dedication or book dedication is the expression of friendly connection or thanks by the author towards another person. The dedication has its own place on the ''dedication page'' and is part of the front matter. History Evidence of dedications is provided back into Classical antiquity. Besides the wish to express their gratitude towards a certain person, the authors often had other reasons to dedicate their work to a particular person. Well into the 18th century, it was not usual for publishers to remunerate the authors; authors tended to be paid or remunerated as one element of a patron-client relationship, in which the author-client paid tribute, in the dedication, to his or her patron. ''Dedication'' is the second studio album by British electronic music producer Zomby, released on 11 July 2011 through 4AD. The album's first single "Natalia's Song" was embroiled in controversy in early 2012. Hanukkah (, ; ''Ḥănukkā'' ) is a Jewish holidays, Jewish festival commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem and subsequent rededication of the Second Temple at the beginning of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BCE. ''Dedication'' is a 2007 American comedy-drama film directed by Justin Theroux (in his feature directorial debut), written by David Bromberg, and stars Billy Crudup and Mandy Moore. The film premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. It was produced by Plum Pictures. Plot Henry Roth is an obsessive-compulsive and somewhat misanthropic writer of children's books.
