Hannah Xue Jia Dederick (born Xua Jia on 20 November 2002) is an American Paralympic athlete of Chinese descent who competes in sprinting events in international level events. Early life Dederick was abandoned at a city hospital's steps in Suzhou as a baby before being adopted to an orphanage. She was adopted by a volunteer at the orphanage who took her to Oxford, Alabama in 2006. After living there for almost 4 years, she then moved with her family to Spokane, Washington in 2012 . Robert Dederick
Robert St Clair Dederick (27 September 1919 – 8 December 1983) was a South African poet. He was born in Atherton, Lancashire, England, 27 September 1919 and died in Cape Town, South Africa, 8 December 1983. He won the South African State Poetry prize in 1967 and the Thomas Pringle Award for creative writing in 1971. He was educated at Taunton School, Somerset and served in the British Army during World War II. He worked as a solicitor in England 1947-1951 and emigrated to Cape Town, South Africa in 1951. He married Sheila (née Solomon) in 1949 and had four children. He worked as a legal advisor for BP Southern Africa 1952–1981. His nephew was the British poet, Pete Morgan. Robert Dederick published two collections of poems, ''The Quest and other Poems'' and ''Bifocal''. The invention was patented on March 24, 1868, as patent 75874, and operated through a system of levers and cranks, attached to steam-powered pistons and a boiler. The original prototype cost $2,000 (equivalent to about $39,458 in 2020) and was built in Newark, New Jersey.
