Deckdisc is a Brazilian record company that was founded in 1998. History The Deckdisc officially began his career as a record label in 1998, with distribution from Universal Music Group, Universal Music. The first success was the series "O Som do Barzinho", which reached more than two million copies sold in its five volumes. It was founded by João Augusto, a journalist and producer who was A&R at PolyGram and A&R, VP of EMI. Falamansa is a Brazilian forró band created in 1998 in São Paulo. With the success of forró on the nights of the city of São Paulo, a movement emerged in the city to meet the demand of the nightclubs and the adolescent public, who identified immediately with the dance and the contagious rhythm of the style. Sorriso Maroto is a Brazilian pagode band originating from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was formed in 1997 by singer and tambourine player Cris Oliveira, and later headed by singer-songwriter Bruno Cardoso. They have released ten albums. Ultraje a Rigor is a Brazilian rock band, which formed in 1980 and experienced great success along with other famous Brazilian rock bands from that time, like Titãs, Os Paralamas do Sucesso, Legião Urbana, and many others, mostly during the 1980s. History Early years Ultraje a Rigor began its performances as a cover band - mostly playing songs of The Beatles, punk rock and new wave songs. Dead Fish is a Brazilian hardcore band that formed in Vitória, Espírito Santo, in 1991. Matanza were a Brazilian rock band from Rio de Janeiro. Their music is a blend of hardcore punk, country and heavy metal, thus falling into a subgenre known as countrycore. Biography Matanza was formed in 1996 by Jimmy London and Donida, with the idea of exploring the simple and straightforward melodies of the early career of the American singer Johnny Cash, adapted to the drum tempo of Scottish punk band The Exploited. Cachorro Grande (Portuguese for "''Big Dog''") was a Brazilian rock band from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. In 2003, the music video for "Lunático" was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2003 MTV Video Music Brazil. In 2007 they won the MTV Video Music Brazil for Best Live Performance.
