Decimate The Weak
''Decimate the Weak'' is the debut studio album by American deathcore band Winds of Plague. Released February 5, 2008, the album is the first by Winds of Plague to be released through major label Century Media, and is the last to include drummer Jeff Tenney and keyboardist Matt Feinman. A music video for "The Impaler" was released. Promotion and release The album features the songs "A Cold Day in Hell", "Anthems of Apocalypse", "Legions" and "One Body Too Many", all of which were originally available on their debut album, ''A Cold Day in Hell'', but were re-recorded for ''Decimate the Weak''. Commercial performance ''Decimate the Weak'' peaked at No. 9 on the ''Billboard'' Top Heatseekers chart and sold more than 3,600 copies its first week. Winds Of Plague
Winds of Plague is an American deathcore band from Upland, California. Formed in 2002, the band is known for being one of the few deathcore bands to incorporate symphonic elements into their music. The band's name is derived from a section of lyrics in the Unearth song "Endless": "Growing wings of sorrow/have brought you to the winds of plague." History Formation, name change, and early releases (2002–2005) Winds of Plague was founded in 2002 in Upland, California. During the time of the band's inception, its name was originally Bleak December. However, they changed their name in April 2005, to Winds of Plague, being named after a lyric from the Unearth song, "Endless". Deathcore is an extreme metal subgenre that combines death metal with metalcore. The genre consists of death metal guitar riffs, blast beats, and metalcore breakdowns. Symphonic Metal
Symphonic metal is a cross-generic style designation for the symphonic subsets of heavy metal music subgenres. It is used to denote any metal band that makes use of symphonic or orchestral elements. The style features the heavy drums and guitars of metal with different elements of orchestral classical music, such as symphonic instruments, choirs and sometimes a full orchestra, or just keyboard orchestration. The Great Stone War
''The Great Stone War'' is the second studio album by American deathcore band Winds of Plague. It was released on August 11, 2009 through Century Media Records. The album also marks the recording debut of drummer Art Cruz and keyboardist Kristen Randall. ''The Great Stone War'' sold 6,300 copies in its first week of release to debut at No. 73 on The Billboard 200 chart. A cover of "Halloween" by Misfits appears as a bonus track on iTunes. Sworn Enemy
Sworn Enemy is an American crossover thrash band from New York City. Biography The band formed as "Downfall" and later on as "Mindset", a product of the extremely expansive and influential New York hardcore scene. At its original inception the band centered on founding members: vocalist Sal Lococo, lead guitarist Lorenzo Antonucci, second guitarist Mike Raffinello, bass player Mike Palmer, and drummer Zoli. The band's early output as Mindset was limited to a demo, an appearance on the ''New Found Hope II – The First Amendment'' compilation CD, and a three-song 7-inch named ''State of Mind''. Soon after the ''State of Mind'' release, another band named Mindset appeared on the underground metal scene, having existed as Mindset before the Queens Mindset.
