Decibully
Decibully was an indie rock band based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin that formed in 2001 and played their final show early in 2011. History Since 1992, vocalist and guitarist William Seidel and guitarist Ryan Weber had been playing in the same band, which went through a variety of names, before settling on Camden. They released their debut studio album ''Reel Time Canvas'' (2000) through the label Grand Theft Autumn. Sometime after this, Seidel served as a keyboardist for the Promise Ring, who went on a two-week tour with Camden in April and May 2001. Shortly afterwards, Weber joined the Promise Ring in time for them to record their fourth studio album, ''Wood/Water'', in the United Kingdom. While this was occurring, Seidel formed Decibully in late 2001 with guitarist W. Kenneth Siebert, formerly of Since by Man, and keyboardist Nick Westfahl. Their first two albums solidified their place among the emo scene; their third effort shifted toward pop music, while their final record was much more experimental in nature. The band initially broke up in 2002 and has reunited sporadically since then to perform live, but no new material from the band has since been released. They were last active for a live performance in 2016. The Promise Ring was established in 1995 by guitarist Jason Gnewikow and drummer Dan Didier. The Snake the Cross the Crown is an American indie/Americana band from Huntsville, Alabama signed to Equal Vision Records. History Originally known as Curbside Service, the group released one album under this name, ''I Packed My Bags a Year in Advance'', before changing to their present name. Their current name is a reference to the logo of Italian car company, Alfa Romeo. Kevin Jones' father owned a repair shop that burnt to the ground. The name is an homage to his father. They moved to Santa Barbara, California, and followed with an EP in 2003 before signing to Equal Vision, who put out a full-length from the band, ''Mander Salis'', in 2004. The group then embarked on tours with Mewithoutyou, Armor for Sleep, Decibully, and Hot Rod Circuit; however, after rigorous touring, they became fed up with the lack of time they were able to spend writing and improving on their respective instruments, and cancelled the remainder of their touring schedule. ''Wood/Water'' is the fourth and final studio album by American rock band the Promise Ring. It was released by Anti- on April 23, 2002. While touring in support of their third studio album, ''Very Emergency'' (1999), the Promise Ring were due to leave for a European tour; frontman Davey von Bohlen was diagnosed with meningioma on the day of departure. As a result of a post-surgical infection, the band could not tour for the remainder of 2000. In early 2001, the Promise Ring made demos with Kristian Riley, and then recorded a track with producer Mario Caldato Jr. in Los Angeles, California. The Promise Ring flew to the UK for six weeks of recording with Stephen Street, before returning to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for further recording. The album moved away from the emo sound of the band's past works into alternative country, indie rock, and pop territory. Headlights was an American indie rock band from Champaign, Illinois on Polyvinyl Records. The band was formed following the dissolution of Absinthe Blind, when members Seth, Erin and Brett Sanderson formed a band named Orphans. It was only when Tristan Wraight joined that Headlights was formed. Headlights released ''The Enemies EP'' in 2004, and followed that up in 2006 with a split single with Canadian indie rock band The Most Serene Republic. Later in 2006, the band released their debut album, '' Kill Them with Kindness'', which received generally positive reviews. Nick Sanborn (of Decibully) and John Owen (of fellow Champaign group Shipwreck) joined the group during the summer of 2007. In 2008, their third album, '' Some Racing, Some Stopping'', was released.
