Deborah Hannah Pontes Nunes, (born 14 March 1993 in Recife, Pernambuco) is a Brazilian handball player. She plays for the Russian club HC Astrakhanochka and is also member of the Brazil women's national handball team. She has played in the 2012 Women's Junior World Handball Championship. Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. American Handball Women's Junior Championships
The Pan American Women's Junior Handball Championship was the official competition for junior women's national handball teams of the Americas, and took place every two years. In addition to crowning the Pan American champions, the tournament also served as a qualifying tournament for the IHF Junior World Handball Championship.
