Debaprasad Ghosh
Acharya Debaprasad Ghosh ( bn, আচার্য দেবপ্রসাদ ঘোষ) (15 March 1894 – 14 July 1985) was an Indian mathematician, linguist, lawyer, journalist, educationist and statesman. He started his career at the age of 21 as a professor of mathematics at the Ripon College. He was actively involved in politics as the President of Bharatiya Jana Sangh from 1956 to 1965, except for the period between 1960 and 1962. He was the longest serving opposition party leader in Indian history, and the fourth longest serving leader of any political party after Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Deba Prasad Gupta
Deba Gupta (December 1911 – 6 May 1930) alias Deba Prasad Gupta was a Bengali revolutionary who joined in the Chittagong armoury raid. He died in a Kalarpole encounter with the British police on 6 May 1930. Revolutionary activities Deba Gupta was born in December 1911 in Dhaka, British India, his father's name was Jogendranath Gupta (Mona). He came into contact with ''Masterda'' Surya Sen and his revolutionary group while studying in college. He took part in the Chittagong Uprising led by the Indian Republican Army. Gupta took part in the Armoury raid on 18 April 1930 and an armed encounter in Jalalabad hill on 22 April 1930. After the encounter he, along with his friends, retired to the village with great difficulty after successfully evading police and military surveillance. Deba Prasad Das was an Indian classical dancer, considered by critics and connoisseurs as one of the four first generation gurus of the Indian classical dance form of Odissi. His Odissi style is robust and unique. He was a recipient of the 1977 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. and 1974 Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. Biography Deba Prasad Das was born in 1932 in a Karana family at a small village near Cuttack called Keul Chabi Sua, in the Indian state of Odisha to Indramani Devi and Durga Charan Das, a police officer. Sir Deva Prasad Sarvadhikari (or Deba Prasad Sarbadhikary) (1862 – 11 August 1935) was an Indian lawyer, educationist and a vice chancellor of Calcutta University.
