Elizabeth M. Brumfiel (born Elizabeth Stern; March 10, 1945 – January 1, 2012) was an American archaeologist who taught at Northwestern University and Albion College. She had been a president of the American Anthropological Association. Early life and education Brumfiel was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended Evanston Township High School. She participated as a Peace Corps volunteer in La Paz, Bolivia in 1966–1967. Jan Groover (April 24, 1943 – January 1, 2012) was an American photographer. She received numerous one-person shows, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, which holds some of her work in its permanent collection. Early life Groover was born and grew up in Plainfield, New Jersey. She studied painting and drawing at Pratt Institute. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1965 from Pratt Institute, and a Master of Arts in Education in 1970 from Ohio State University. The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life, formerly known as the Judah L. Magnes Museum from 1961 until its reopening in 2012, is a museum of Jewish history, art, and culture in Berkeley, California. The museum, which was founded in 1961 by Seymour and Rebecca Fromer, is named for Jewish activist Rabbi Judah L. Magnes, a native of Oakland and co-founder of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Rebecca Fromer
Rebecca Camhi Fromer (January 16, 1927 – January 1, 2012) was an American playwright, historian and poet. Fromer co-founded the Judah L. Magnes Museum of Berkeley, California, in 1961 with her husband, Seymour Fromer. The museum, which is now called the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life and became part of the University of California, Berkeley in 2010, houses more than 15,000 Judaica artifacts and manuscripts, the third largest collection of its kind in the United States. Fromer was born in New York City and raised in Los Angeles. She moved to Oakland, California, with her husband in 1953. Fromer authored and co-authored several historical books and articles on Jewish history. Anders Frandsen (8 December 1960 – c. 1 January 2012) was a Denmark, Danish musician, singer, actor and TV presenter. He was born in Copenhagen. Career Although Frandsen was not a trained actor, he appeared in theatre performances during the 1980s. He later became a TV presenter on Danish Kanal 2, alongside Camilla Miehe-Renard. In 1991 he came to fame when he won the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix (the Danish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest) with the song ''Lige der hvor hjertet slår'', composed by Michael Elo.
