Death Of Clara Nunes
The death of Clara Nunes occurred on April 2, 1983, and was caused by anaphylactic shock triggered by halothane at the São Vicente Clinic in Rio de Janeiro. Before her death, she spent 28 days in a coma with immediate brain death after suffering anaphylaxis during surgery to remove varicose veins from her legs on March 5 of that year. There was considerable speculation regarding the cause of Clara's coma. The work of the doctors who attended her and her relationship with her husband, songwriter Paulo César Pinheiro, were thoroughly analyzed by the press and her fans. Euzébia Silva de Oliveira, better known as Dona Zica, (1913 –2003), was a Brazilian samba dancer at the Mangueira Samba school in Rio de Janeiro, who went on to play an important role in the Mangueira favela. Early life Dona Zica was born in Piedade in the north of Rio de Janeiro on 6 February 1913. Her father died when she was one year old. She moved with her family to Mangueira as a child, where she became one of the first members of the Mangueira Samba school, participating in its first parade, in 1928, when she was 15. Grande Otelo (October 18, 1915 – November 26, 1993) was the stage name of Brazilian actor, comedian, singer, and composer Sebastião Bernardes de Souza Prata. Otelo was born in Uberlândia, and was orphaned as a child. He kept running away from the families that adopted him; only when he took up art did his life become settled.
