Dearborn Stars
The Dearborn Stars are an American soccer club based in Dearborn, Michigan that play in the Michigan Premier Soccer League, a United States Adult Soccer Association-affiliated (fifth division) league. The club is best known for qualifying for the first round of the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. History 2013 Open Cup run Dearborn achieved prominence by qualifying for the 2013 edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the oldest active soccer cup competition in the United States. Dearborn qualified for the tournament proper via the 2013 USASA Region II National Cup, which they reached by being the only club to enter the Michigan Open Cup qualifier. In the first round of the tournament proper, Dearborn defeated PDL powerhouse, Michigan Bucks 2–0 off of goals from Nik Djokic. Madonna University
Madonna University is a private Roman Catholic university in Livonia, Michigan. It was founded as the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Junior College by the Felician Sisters in 1937. It became Madonna College in 1947 and Madonna University in 1991. Among the largest Franciscan universities in the country, Madonna is situated on an 80-acre (32 ha) wooded campus. John Heslop
John Herbert Heslop (21 March 1925 – 21 June 2014) was a New Zealand surgeon noted for his treatment of burns. He was also active as a sports—particularly cricket—administrator, serving as president of the New Zealand Cricket Council from 1987 to 1989. Biography Heslop attended the University of Otago, graduating MB ChB in 1950 and ChM in 1959. He was a lecturer, senior lecturer and then associate professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Otago from 1957 to 1984. In 1960 he was appointed surgeon-in-charge of the Dunedin Hospital burns unit, and served as president of the Australia and New Zealand Burns Association and as the New Zealand representative on the committee of the International Burn Society.
