''Dear Zoe'' is a 2022 American drama film directed by Gren Wells from a screenplay by Marc Lhormer and Melissa Martin. It is an adaptation of the 2005 novel of the same name by Philip Beard. The film stars Sadie Sink, Theo Rossi, Kweku Collins, Jessica Capshaw, Justin Bartha, and Vivien Lyra Blair. Plot Fifteen-year-old Tess DeNunzio lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with her blended family: her stepfather, David, who married Tess’s mother, Elly, when Tess was five, and her younger half-sister Em, a first grader. Tess’s biological father, Nick, lives nearby in a poorer neighborhood; he was briefly married to Elly after Tess was born, but the two divorced when Tess was little. Gren Wells
Gren Wells is a Kentucky-born filmmaker, screenwriter, and actress who works and resides in Los Angeles. Early life Wells was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut. After attending Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York, Wells moved to New York City, where she starred in six indie films over a two-year span, one of which, ''Man About Town'', won Best Short Film at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival. After moving to Los Angeles, Wells became a stand-up comic and wrote her first feature script, ''A Little Bit of Heaven''. Career Her first script, '' A Little Bit of Heaven'', was sold to 20th Century Fox.
