Deane Hutton
Deane Winston Hutton (born 30 April 1941) is an Australian television presenter and futurist. His work on television has included 18 years as a co-writer-presenter with Rob Morrison of the ''Curiosity Show'', and as science presenter on '' Hey Hey It's Saturday''. Hutton has also presented science reports on the Sunday editions of ''Seven News'' in Adelaide and had some segments on the ABC show ''The New Inventors ''The New Inventors'' was an Australian television program, that was broadcast on ABC1 and hosted by broadcaster and comedian James O'Loghlin. Rob Morrison (scientist)
Robert Gwydir Booth Morrison, Winston Churchill Memorial Trusts, CF (born 14 November 1942) is an Australian zoologist and science communicator. He co-hosted ''The Curiosity Show'' which aired on television from 1972 to 1990. He has written or co-written 48 books about science for the general public. Morrison is a Professorial Fellow in the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work at Flinders University. He is also a past President of the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia (now publicized as "Zoos SA"). His research has focused on comparative anatomy of the mammalian olfactory system, the identification of animals from tracks and traces, the design of artificial nesting boxes, and techniques to breed animals and birds which face extinction in their native habitats in order to reintroduce them in the wild. Curiosity Show
''The Curiosity Show'' is an Australian educational children's television show produced from 1972 to 1990 and hosted by Rob Morrison and Deane Hutton. The show was produced by Banksia Productions in South Australia for the Nine Network. 500 episodes were produced across 19 seasons. Episodes have been archived on YouTube for preservation. History Banksia Productions produced the popular children's series ''Here's Humphrey'' from 1965. The company planned to add some science segments in 1971 and sought assistance from the South Australian Institute of Technology. Rob Morrison and Deane Hutton were selected as presenters and the segments were introduced as ''Humphrey B Bear's Curiosity Show''. ''Hey Hey It's Saturday'' was a long-running variety television program on Australian television. It initially ran for 28 years on the Nine Network from 9 October 1971 to 20 November 1999, with a recess in 1978. Its host throughout its entire run was Daryl Somers, who later also became executive producer of the program. The original producer, Gavan Disney, left the program in the 1980s and Somers then jointly formed his own production company, Somers Carroll Productions, with comedy writer and on-screen partner Ernie Carroll, the performer of Somers' pink ostrich puppet sidekick Ossie Ostrich. On 25 July 2009, the Nine Network announced the show would return for two reunion specials in late 2009 and hinted if they rated strongly, the show could return full-time. ABC Television (Australian TV Network)
ABC Television is the general name for the national television services of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Until an organisational restructure in 2017/2018, ABC Television was also the name of a division of the ABC. The name was also used to refer to the first and for many years the only national ABC channel, before it was renamed ABC1 and then again to ABC TV. The Australian public broadcaster's television service was launched in November 1956 from its first television station in Australia, ABN Sydney. ''The New Inventors'' was an Australian television program, that was broadcast on ABC1 and hosted by broadcaster and comedian James O'Loghlin. Each episode featured three Australian inventions and short video tape packages.
