Dean Wasson
Dean Wasson is a politician and public servant in Ontario, Canada. He was a founding member of the Ontario Provincial Confederation of Regions Party (CoR), and leader of the party in the 1990 provincial election. Wasson's family arrived in the Peterborough region in 1831. Before entering political life, he spent many years in volunteer positions in minor hockey and minor and senior lacrosse and church organizations. He also held many senior management positions in business and finance with a major corporation. In 1991, Wasson testified before a provincial committee on bilingualism that the Canadian Charter of Rights should allow "cultural diversity by region". Peterborough () is a cathedral city in Cambridgeshire, east of England. It is the largest part of the City of Peterborough unitary authority district (which covers a larger area than Peterborough itself). It was part of Northamptonshire until 1974, when county boundary change meant the city became part of Cambridgeshire instead. The city is north of London, on the River Nene which flows into the North Sea to the north-east. In 2020 the built-up area subdivision had an estimated population of 179,349. The Ontario New Democratic Party (french: link=no, Nouveau Parti démocratique de l'Ontario; abbr. ONDP or NDP) is a social-democratic political party in Ontario, Canada. Jenny Carter
Jenny Carter (born December 26, 1931) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. She was a New Democratic Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1990 to 1995, and served as a cabinet minister in the government of Bob Rae. Background Carter obtained a degree in French from the University of London and degrees in English and Canadian Studies from Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, and a post-graduate certificate from the Institute of Education. Ontario Provincial Confederation Of Regions Party
The Ontario Provincial Confederation of Regions Party is a minor political party in Ontario, Canada, the provincial branch of the now-defunct Confederation of Regions Party of Canada. The party was founded in 1989, around the time the federal CoR was dissolved, and remains the last Confederation of Regions Party in Canada. The CoR survives only in Ontario, though once a national movement whose original ''raison d'être'' was to promote the rights of regions other than Ontario and Quebec, now it advocates for regions within Ontario.
