Dean Puckett
Dean Puckett (15 January 1982) is an English filmmaker. Biography Dean Puckett is a documentary filmmaker from England. He produced and edited the comedy horror spectacular ''Loony In The Woods'' (directed by Leo Leigh), which is set for worldwide distribution by Troma Entertainment. His first feature-length documentary, ''The Elephant in the Room'' (2008), won best UK documentary at London Independent Film Festival and Best Director at the Portobello Film Festival. Puckett's second documentary film, ''The Crisis Of Civilization'', based on the book of the same name by Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed, was exhibited at film festivals. His new documentary, ''Grasp The Nettle'', was released in 2013. The film was described by ''The London Film Review'' as "an intriguing, intimate, and at times quite powerful documentary". Dean Puckett (15 January 1982) is an English filmmaker. Dean Puckett is a writer/ director and film lecturer at Falmouth University in Cornwall. He recently wrote and directed his debut feature THE SEVERED SUN, which was developed through with BBC Films, Creative England and the BFI, and was funded by Screen Cornwall, with MPI Media handling sales. His short films have screened at festivals around the world and won a number of awards and Vimeo Staff picks. Troma Entertainment
Troma Entertainment is an American independent film production and distribution company founded by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz in 1974. The company produces low-budget independent films, primarily of the horror comedy genre. Many of them play on 1950s horror with elements of farce, parody, gore and splatter. In 2012, the company officially released many of its films on YouTube. However, their YouTube channel was eventually terminated for not meeting community standards. Troma has produced, acquired and distributed over 1,000 independent films since its creation. Its slogan in 2014 was "40 years of Disrupting Media". Portobello Film Festival
The Portobello Film Festival is an independent international film festival based in London, which annually premiers over 700 new films, including feature films, features, short films, shorts, documentaries, music films, and animation. Additionally, workshops and talks with top film directors (such as Stephen Frears and John Maybury) are also featured. Admission to the three-week-long festival is free of charge. Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed (born 1978) is a British investigative journalist, author and academic. He is editor of the crowdfunded investigative journalism platform INSURGE intelligence.
