Dean Murray (basketball)
Dean Murray (born June 6, 1964) is an American professional basketball coach. He is the current head coach of REG of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Playing career Murray played college basketball for Appalachian State Mountaineers men's basketball team from 1985 to 1987, in a total of seven games over two seasons. Coaching career Murray's professional coaching career started in 2001 with the Charleston Lowgators of the NBA D-League. Murray was the head coach of the Saitama Broncos in the Japanese Bj League in 2011. Murray coached Al-Muharraq SC in Bahrain in 2019. In February 2020, he signed in Rwanda as coach of Patriots BBC, which play in the first Basketball Africa League (BAL) season. He parted ways with the team in March 2021. In February 2023, Murray agreed to coach the REG BBC team during the 2023 BAL season. Bj League
The was a professional basketball league in Japan that began in November 2005 as a six-team league. The league was operated as a competitor to the established Japan Super League which was run by the Japan Basketball Association, the official governing body of basketball in Japan. Over the next ten years the league saw continual expansion, with at least one new team joining every season, reaching 24 teams divided into two conferences in its final season in 2015–16. NBA D-League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) (formerly the National Basketball League Rwanda) is the top professional basketball league in Rwanda. Its season usually runs from November to September. Rwanda Energy Group BBC, commonly known as REG, is a Rwandan basketball club based in Kigali. It is owned and named after the company Rwanda Energy Group Limited. It plays in the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL), the highest tier of basketball in Rwanda. REG has won the national championship thrice, in 2017, 2021 and 2022.
