Deadstar (mixtape)
''Deadstar'' is the debut commercial mixtape by American rapper Smokepurpp. It was released on September 29, 2017, by Alamo Records and Interscope Records. The mixtape features guest appearances from frequent collaborator Lil Pump, alongside Chief Keef, Yo Gotti, Juicy J, Travis Scott and DRAM. It was supported by five singles – "Audi", "Different Color Molly", "To the Moon", "Ok", and "Bless Yo Trap". In December 2019, a sequel to the mixtape was released, '' Deadstar 2''. Artwork A friend of Smokepurpp came up with the idea for the album art from infamous punk rock artist GG Allin. On Purpp's album cover, he's seen in a coffin, surrounded by a newspaper clipping, photos of himself, alcohol and a lean bottle. This mimics an infamous photo of the punk rocker at his funeral. Smokepurpp
Omar Jeffery Pineiro (born May 15, 1997), known professionally as Smokepurpp, is an American rapper. Originally a record producer, Pineiro later found success on the audio distribution platform SoundCloud in 2017 from his surge in popularity due to his track "Audi". Pineiro released his debut commercial mixtape '' Deadstar'' on September 29, 2017, and the mixtape peaked at number 42 on the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart. Early life Smokepurpp was born on May 15, 1997, in Chicago, Illinois. He and his family moved to Miami, Florida when he was three years old. Speaking on his upbringing, Pineiro described himself during high school as a calm individual who surrounded himself with diverse groups of people. Gazzy Garcia (born August 17, 2000), better known professionally as Lil Pump, is an American rapper. He is one of the most prominent artists of the SoundCloud rap scene and is known for his minimalist music and hyperactive public persona. Lil Pump rose to prominence in 2017 with his hit single "Gucci Gang", which peaked at number 3 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and was certified five-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Kevin Michael "GG" Allin (born Jesus Christ Allin; August 29, 1956 – June 28, 1993) was an American punk rock musician who performed and recorded with many groups during his career. Allin was best known for his controversial live performances, which often featured transgressive acts, including self-mutilation, defecating on stage, and assaulting audience members, for which he was arrested and imprisoned on multiple occasions.
