Willy Van Hemert
Willy van Hemert (29 March 1912 – 26 June 1993) was a Dutch actor and theatre and television director, but is best known as a songwriter who penned two winning Dutch songs for the Eurovision Song Contest. Biography Van Hemert was born in Utrecht in 1912 as Willem Catharinus van Hemert. He attended the Bonifacius School in Utrecht. He studied drama and (briefly) law. In 1955 Van Hemert adapted William Inge's ''Come Back, Little Sheba'' for Dutch television. Two years later, in 1957, he wrote the lyrics for the winning song at the 1957 Eurovision Song Contest, "Net als toen", performed by Corry Brokken. Two years later Van Hemert won the Contest in Cannes, with the song "Een beetje", performed by Teddy Scholten. Van Hemert also wrote the lyrics for the Dutch entry the following year when the contest was staged in London (as The Netherlands had hosted the 1958 Edition). Louis Bouwmeester
Louis Frederik Johannes Bouwmeester (5 September 1842 – 28 April 1925) was a Dutch actor best known for his Shakespeare interpretations. He is also known as Louis Bouwmeester Sr. for distinction from his son. He performed several times in Vienna, London and Paris, and became popular. From 1873 to 1879 he was director of the Salon des Variétés in Amsterdam. In 1882 he received from Willem III the gold medal for Arts and Sciences. In 1902 he became director of the Haarlems Theater Company. He was strong actor in melodramas such as ''De twee wezen'' (The Two Orphans). Nico de Jong gave a short speech following the death of Louis Bouwmeester. He called Bouwmeester "the friend of the Dutch theater players, an artist by God's grace, whose name will be mentioned after centuries". After his speech he asked the attendees to stand up for a moment in reverence for the deceased and to agree with him in his wish: "Louis Bouwmeester, rest in peace". Henriëtte Adriana "Hetty" Blok (6 January 1920 – 6 November 2012) was a Dutch cabaret artist, singer, and actress who performed on the stage, on radio, and on television for more than five decades. Her best-known role is Nurse Klivia, one of the lead roles in the iconic television series '' Ja zuster, nee zuster'', a role with which she was identified the rest of her life. She was known also as a friend of Annie M. G. Schmidt and a singer of her songs. Biography Blok was born in Arnhem and made her stage début in 1943. Her career started shortly after World War II in cabaret, performing with established singers and musicians including Wim Sonneveld, Fien de la Mar, and Harry Bannink. She met Annie M. G. Schmidt during this time period and developed an intimate friendship with her.
