De Stenen Tafel
__NOTOC__ De Stenen Tafel is a restaurant in Borculo, in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1999 and retained that rating until 2011. French restaurant guide Gault Millau did not mention the restaurant or its sister bistro De Olliemölle. The head chef of De Stenen Tafel is Raymond Prinsen, who took over in 1994. Prinsen closed the restaurant in April 2011, due to lack of motivation. He went on with his Bib Gourmand bistro De Olliemölle and started developing other plans, like a cookery school. Prinsen did not enjoy his restaurant-free period and announced the return of the restaurant in April 2012. Although with a different concept, just open two days a week and 20 couverts, he has promised to try to get his star back. Raymond is a male given name. It was borrowed into English from French (older French spellings were Reimund and Raimund, whereas the modern English and French spellings are identical). Borculo
Borculo is a city in the eastern Netherlands, in the municipality of Berkelland, Gelderland. Borculo was an independent municipality until 2005, when it merged with Eibergen, Neede, and Ruurlo. Other population centers in the municipality of Borculo were nearby Geesteren, Gelselaar, and Haarlo. History Borculo began as a settlement near where, at the time, the Berkel joined a smaller stream called the Grolse Slinge. In the 12th century a castle called Hof van Borculo was built. A defensive wall surrounding the village was constructed in 1348. The village received city rights in 1375. Gault et Millau is a French restaurant guide. It was founded by two restaurant critics, Henri Gault and Christian Millau in 1965. Points system Gault Millau rates on a scale of 1 to 20, with 20 being the highest. Restaurants given below 10 points are rarely listed. The points are awarded based on the quality of the food, with comments about service, price or the atmosphere of the restaurant given separately.
