Dayton Dynamo
The Dayton Dynamo was a professional indoor soccer team from Dayton, Ohio. The team played in the American Indoor Soccer Association (AISA). Founded by former University of Dayton and Central State University coach Jerry Butcher, the Dynamo joined the AISA as one of two expansion franchises (the other being the Jacksonville Generals) playing in the 1987–88 post-season "Challenge Cup" Series. The franchise began regular-season play at Hara Arena starting with the 1988–89 season and moved to the Ervin J. Nutter Center at Wright State University for the 1990–91 season. The Dynamo played its last two seasons in Dayton at the 4,600 seat capacity Dayton Convention Center. The Dynamo finished last in the league during the team's first two seasons. In the 1989–90 season, the Dynamo won the National Division, but the squad lost to the Canton Invaders of Canton, Ohio, in the championship series. Dayton Dynamo were a soccer organization based in Dayton, Ohio. After taking off the 2018 season in the hopes of returning in 2019 in a more Professional league, those ambitions never came into place and around midway through 2019, the team ceased operations. They last played in the National Premier Soccer League in the fourth tier of American soccer. History Established in 2009 as the Cincinnati Saints, the team had been a member of the affiliated amateur Premier Arena Soccer League since 2009 before moving up to the pro league in 2013; however, in 2014 the team returned to the amateur league. Starting in May 2014, the Saints organization played outdoor soccer as an expansion team in the Great Lakes Conference of the National Premier Soccer League. The National Professional Soccer League was a professional indoor soccer league in the US and Canada. It was originally called the American Indoor Soccer Association. History In November 1983, a Kalamazoo, Michigan-based group called Soccer Leagues Unlimited unveiled a plan for an indoor league composed exclusively of American players.
