Dayton Black
Dayton Black (born December 13, 1999) is a Canadian professional football offensive lineman for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played U Sports football at Saskatchewan. Early life Black played high school football at Neelin High School in Brandon, Manitoba as a quarterback. His senior year, he set Winnipeg High School Football League (WHSFL) single-season passing records in completions with 119, attempts with 219, and yards with 1,981. He also set single-game WHSFL passing records in completions with 26, attempts with 43 and yards with 493. Black played defense as well in high school, recording 23 tackles, two forced fumbles and one blocked kick his senior year. He grew up a Winnipeg Blue Bombers fan. In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. Canada West is a regional membership association for universities in Western Canada which assists in co-ordinating competition between their university level athletic programs and providing contact information, schedules, results, and releases about those programs and events to the public and the media. Injured Reserve
The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Injured reserve lists are used because the rules of these leagues allow for only a certain numbers of players on each team's roster. 2023 CFL Draft
The 2023 CFL National Draft was a selection of National players by Canadian Football League teams that took place on May 2, 2023, at 8:00 pm ET. 72 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA and NAIA. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are a professional Canadian football team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
